Congratulations to the Equality Charter School 6th grade basketball team for winning the CSAA championship on Saturday, June 9th by defeating Carl Ican2. The final score was 29-19.
The game was close at first but an outstanding play by Matthew, who led all scorers with 17 points, gave Equality a comfortable lead. Brian, who won MVP, received 10 points. Also, a special congratulations to Sabrena, who played most of the minutes in every game.
As Coach Cooper said, “Coach Laurence and I worked very hard to prepare this young team to compete at a high level. The team started with a lot of postponed games which had all of us ready to give up. We lost 2 games in a row and we had our hopes down. But we went back to the drawing board and Coach Laurence and I gave them a pep talk to get their spirits up!! 2012 as been great to the Equality basketball program!!! 7th and 8th grade champs and now 6th grade champs!!! Coach and I thank all of the supporters!!! LETS GO EAGLES!!! ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!!”
